Community Forum on Mental Health for Clergy and Church Staff

United Way of White County will host a Community Forum on Mental Health to assist / equip clergy and church staff. (Nondenominational).

In an effort to further discuss mental health needs across our community, United Way of White County is hosting our 5th Community Forum on Mental Health on September 15th sponsored by Capstone Wellness. The focus of this forum is mental health resources, skills, and self-care for Clergy and Church Staff.

Clergy are often the first approached by someone experiencing a mental health crisis. Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and other issues are being experienced at incredible levels and the church is often the first place someone turns to for help. Unfortunately, not all members of clergy have training or skills in handling these sometimes complex situations.

This forum will serve as a starting point to direct clergy and church staff members to local resources, techniques, and counselors that may provide help to them when these arise. Self-care of clergy is also a topic that is rarely discussed. Clergy sometimes experience lonliness, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues themselves. Therefore, part of this forum will include self-care resources for them.

This event is free and open to the public. It is also nondenominational, nonsectarian in nature so people of all faiths are welcome to attend.

Lunch will be provided so please pre-register.

We want to thank our mental health program partners Capstone Wellness and Vince & Root Counseling for making this forum possible.
