Homelessness

We work with local partners to provide resources, guidance, and community support that help people transition from crisis to stability and long-term housing security.

Mental Health

United Way of White County works to expand access to care, support, and community resources so everyone can pursue emotional and behavioral well-being without stigma. We host community forums and partnering with local organizations to encourage open conversations and connect residents with counseling, crisis support, and other mental health services.

Financial Stability for the Underemployed

We help hardworking residents build a secure financial future through job support, budgeting resources, and connections to community programs. We support initiatives that empower individuals with financial education, workforce development opportunities, and tools that strengthen long-term economic stability.

Strengthening FamiliesChildrenCommunities

MEET A.L.I.C.E.

Alice represents a growing and often unseen segment of our community. She is Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.

Alice works hard, often in retail, food service, childcare, healthcare support, or clerical roles. Even so, her income does not stretch far enough. She pays rent and bills, but:

  • She cannot always afford childcare or healthcare.
  • She lives paycheck to paycheck with little or no savings.
  • An unexpected expense such as car repairs, a medical bill, or school supplies can quickly become a crisis.

In White County, 36 percent of residents are ALICE, living above the federal poverty line but struggling to afford basic needs like housing, food, transportation, and technology.

Alice is not alone. She keeps our community running while caring for her family and contributing to the local economy. Our goal is to connect Alice and others like her to resources, support systems, and opportunities that lead to long-term stability and peace of mind.
